Local Pop songstress Anjelia Pelay took The Saint’s intimate dwellings for the final time on Wednesday evening. Backed by Emily Grove and members of the Toms River-based Industrial-Metal outfit End Of An Era for the majority of the showcase, prior to pulling back the lush red curtain encasing the stage, Pelay first held a viewing of her forthcoming music video for “In The End,” a revealing composition from the artist’s 2011 debut release Believe, in which songwriter depicts a seemingly manically-depressive and suicidal Marilyn Monroe-type starlet of yesteryear. The musical picture show was moving to say the very least, as a silence fell over the room prior to Pelay taking the stage behind her electric Yamaha keyboard to play an equally stunning rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep.” Pelay proceeded to pull selections from her aforementioned debut including “The World Spins Madly On” and “In Colors,” much to the delight of the packed in patronage. It was proper send off for Pelay who will make her westward trek back to the best coast to continue her career as an artist, musician, and actress.
