Modern punk rockers Arctic Flowers announced a new album and released its first single on Oct. 9. Listeners can stream the single “Hallow Water” off Straight to the Hunter now.
In writing Straight to the Hunter, the band wanted to take their time and really think about how the album would turn out. Guitarist Stan Wright explained their reasoning was in an effort to create something more mature and thought-out.
“[It] was partially just life, but also experimenting and not wanting to make the same record again,” Wright said.
What came from that time off is an album the band says has songs with “heavy, sharp, littered with haunting melodies, and filled with emotional depth.”
Straight to the Hunter will be released on Nov. 30 in the U.S. on Arctic Flowers Records in North America, and a record release show will be held on Dec. 8 at the High Water Mark in Portland.
