Asbury Park’s own Moon Motel (who recently landed at No. 6 on SIMGE’s Top 50 Album’s of 2013 list) surfaced on Sunday to announce the release of Live For No One, the greatly anticipated follow up to last year’s The Lonely Romantic, which will officially be unveiled on February 15th at Espresso Joe’s in Keyport, NJ.
Live For No One will be released 364 days after The Lonely Romantic and, according to Moon Motel frontman J. Sales, will act as “the conclusion” to the tale introduced by its predecessor.
Sales went on to say that Moon Motel’s forthcoming release, a six-song collection recorded in full at Toms River’s Ugly Door Studios, “was recorded in one live take” and will consist of simply acoustic guitar and vocals. “There are plenty of “mistakes” and emotion on this album. It’s very raw and simplistic and follows The Romantic as he journeys home.”
Moon Motel’s record release show will feature performances by Chris Rockwell, Jim Mill, and Brick, NJ’s Sykes Hartmann…however, be sure to check out Moon Motel tonight (Monday the 13th) at Wonder Bar with Rockwell & The Stickball Social Club and Wake Up Paradise as part of the free weekly SIMGE and Little Dickman Records-sponsored music event Happy Mondays…find more info on that show here.
