Someone needs to produce a study on Australian punk singers and their uncanny ability to snarl a melody in such a fashion that it hooks into your mind and soul, and ultimately forces the listener to believe they too can produce such an alluring animalistic utterance. And then I wind up blowing out my vocal chords…thanks for that.

Another case of ruptured esophagus rock has landed in the states by way the Mlebourne based ScotDrakula who dropped “Stupid Everything” ahead of the outfit’s forthcoming Burner LP, which is going to tape via the excellent independent boutique imprint Fleeting Youth Records, and slated for a December 9th unveiling alongside an EP named Break Me Up.

The warm crackling hiss that fills the initial seven seconds of “Stupid Everything” supplants an idea of what lies ahead, and the jangling distorted guitar tone and simple rhythmic percussion confirms it…this is ScotDrakula cut is dynamic underground Garage-Rock with a Punk-Pop spinal chord at its finest. Finally, Matt Neumann’s searing, rickety howl is branded into your soul and the realization hits: You’ve stumbled upon your new favorite single, one with staying power, and anticipation toward next month’s official unveiling starts to build.
