Breaking Rad: Big Ups

Big Ups
New York City’s Big Ups have dropped the epitome of what underground Punk music is all about in “Fresh Meat”.  This track is the sonic equivalent of scraped knees clotted with dirt and grime from Friday night’s basement rager; a piece of spoken word ferocity with electrified valleys of bludgeoning bass and jagged peaks of silent vile; and at the most basic of levels about a man on the street romancing a dog.

“Fresh Meat” is as enthralling as it is repugnant with an intriguing arrangement of stops, starts, and painful wailing on the brink of collapse that’s controlled in a chaotic croon by frontman Brendan Finn…and this penman can’t help but tap the replay button.
