Breaking Rad: Foxanne And Derrick “Drop” Baxton Are New Brunswick Trip-Hoppers Red Giant.

Better known for her solo, more conventional singer-songwriter endeavors, the Brooklyn-based Foxanne recently took the trek down to New Brunswick, NJ to team up with revered hip-hop producer Derrick “Drop” Braxton for a trip-hop project titled Red Giant…and the duo’s initial creations are here.

Foxanne, who dropped an excellent debut EP at The Saint last month alongside the likes of Chris Rockwell, 1L and more, provides her sultry vocal delivery once more over Braxton’s drowsy, glitched, and elctronically charged back beats, his producorial craft honed in past outings with Lupe Fiasco and Cassidy, and through partnerships with Pharell and Raekwon.

Red Giant provided an initial taste of what’s to come with a downtempo and experimental debut cut in “Twin Peaks”, but launched an impressive follow up selection in “R.apid M.ovement”, which features Foxanne’s haunting delivery alongside a closing verse by Ken Cardo.

Stream both tracks below and stay tuned for more by Red Giant.
