Out of the rollicking waves and the gristly sand appears a band so catchy you’ll fall in love with their songs the minute your ears catch hold of them. The Carousers hail from Long Branch, NJ and are pumping out snappy pop punk tunes that will put pep in your step. The trio just released a five song self-titled EP recorded by Sean Glonek at SRG Studios. You can hear heavy influence of Gaslight Anthem, Weezer and Greenday throughout their fun EP.

Although this is the first release for the Carousers as a full band, they have the chops and experience that prove they’ve all been at this game for a while. With the help of Johnny Ott and Nick Arabatzis on backing vocals and piano the EP has a full-bodied sound making it shine.

“She’s The Devil” is out rightly hooky with Affatato’s growl cutting each word he sings. “Cracked Pot” is the kind of track that you can see crowds singing and swigging beer in unison to. The following tune, “Another World” is zippy and bold with Crosby’s backing vocals adding an additional shimmer. Closing song, “Halloween Night” has everything in one, jangly guitars, heartbreak, reconciliation and en epic choral ending. What more could you ask for?!

The Carousers are Joey Affatato, Cassidy Crosby and Andy Jackle. Check out their new EP on bandcamp and see them play on November 10 at a house show in Long Branch.
