SIMGE Stream: NJ Indie Rockers The Vaughns Dazzle With Their Debut EP

Nate Voss October 13, 2014 Live, Reviews No Comments

Claiming no definitive line of influence, new Springfield, NJ outfit The Vaughns have made a bold first step with their untitled or self titled debut EP. Classic rock, metal, power-pop, reggae, folk and indie comprise the band’s initial analysis, but there are distinguishable, original artistic elements that come to the fore across the EP’s spritely 5 tracks.

Representing everything alt, front woman Anna Lies’ delivery skirts the lines of New England products like Speedy Ortiz with a laid back indie sheen set against unmistakably east coastal guitars. Surf rock but with an edge. Kind of like, swim in these waters IF YOU DARE.

I’m particular to…all of these songs so be sure to stream The Vaughns’ EP below, and catch them at 10th Street Live on October 17th.
