Trying to tidily sum up the overall genre of Brooklyn songwriter Ben Pagano, working with his band The Space Machine, is a fool’s errand. With a new Oliver Ignatius-produced album on the way, Forms, Pagano has been teasing the wealth of diverse sounds at play, with the video for single “Killin’ it in the Kitchen” bringing some good ol’ fashioned freak-out funk.
Now, Ben Pagano & The Space Machine are back this time armed with jet fueled space-rock on “Time is Gone.” Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of the video for “Time is Gone” today.
Filmed at Sunnyvale, the video for “Time is Gone” compliments the track’s tight grooves and riveting swells with that beautifully washed out aesthetic reminiscent of the great indie-rock groups of the late 80s/early 90s.
Pagano shares:
“‘Time is Gone’ is an abstract song exploring the concept of space and time. It suggests that we are in an infinite loop and may have ‘seen this all before.’ It is a single off our second album, Forms, named for its conceptual focus on the human emotion and forms of being.”
Watch Ben Pagano & The Space Machine in “Time is Gone” below and be sure to catch them at their record release show at Mercury Lounge on April 23rd with Caged Animals and Kung Fu Crimewave.
