C.R. and the Degenerates

When last we checked in on NJ-based songwriter Chris Gennone, he was dropping Winnebago’s great debut, Turbine Lounge. Since then, Gennone has stepped out with a new project, C.R. and the Degenerates, wherein he released six EPs all in the latter half of 2015.

With that, Gennone went into the incubator for a spell to craft C.R. and the Degenerates’ debut LP, Salt of the Earth, due June 24th via Sniffling Indie Kids. Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of the video for album track “Newport Pleasure Sickness” today.

The video features a live performance take from the band spliced with footage of pure, American moments of nostalgia. “Newport Pleasure Sickness,” as a standalone song, is a warm jangle-pop number for all you Replacements fans out there who enjoy staring wistfully out a window with half a buzz on.

According to the artist, “‘Newport Pleasure Sickness’ is a song about growing up and going through the mundane everyday life of working, struggling and living.”

Be sure to watch C.R. and the Degenerates in “Newport Pleasure Sickness” below and pre-order your copy of Salt of the Earth here.
