Hermano Stereo

With roots stretching back over five years, Montclair-based outsider pop group Hermano Stereo are now prepping to release their debut album. Consisting primarily of Scott Thomas, Montana Loran and Eric Schiwe, the band has become an underground favorite while steadily gigging after releasing the Small Dogs In Heat Vol. 2 EP back in 2013.

Now, Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of Hermano Stereo’s latest single, “The Tumbleweeds.” The timely track, “is a comment on the revolving door of absurd characters in American politics and the current election.”

Thomas and Loran harmonize not unlike the Win Butler x RĂ©gine Chassagne dynamic with a little bit of Isaac Brock’s knack for gritty, eerie deliveries sprinkled into the former. “You picked my pocket with the left hand, You hit my face with the right, You gave me the left and the right all night,” beautifully encompasses the feeling plenty of Americans are feeling ahead of November 8th. All of this lays on an inventive bedrock of winding banjo strums, atmospheric keys and tight, angular rhythms.

Stream Hermano Stereo’s “The Tumbleweeds” below and be sure to catch them at the Scarlet Pub in New Brunswick on November 6th.
