Well regarded in his home scene in Austin and beyond, Quin Galavis will soon unveil his latest endeavor which features a beautifully intense, epic sonic narrative. The dark and smoky stylings of Nick Cave and the cathartic build/crash swells of Swans only go so far in describing Galavis’ double LP opus, My Life in Steel and Concrete. The album features contributions from Thor Harris of the aforementioned Swans, Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog) and plenty of other musical luminaries.
Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of album cut “A Disturbing Face” today. A foreboding kick/snare combo immediately establishes the track’s lilting, brooding atmosphere as strings swirl and weave. Within the context of the full double album, out this Friday, it’s a striking standout.
“This is one of my favorite songs on the record,” shares Galavis. “I tried not to use a traditional rhyming structure. I think that it compliments the song’s narrative of the first realization of failure and how our character will accept it.”
