Skyler Cocco

It’s hard to reach for the sound and aesthetic that Floral Park, NY-based songwriter Skyler Cocco is going for without dipping into straight up parody. But Cocco’s natural presence and talent allows for her to occupy the modern grunge lane as a fresh spark.

On her latest single, “Some Nerve,” Cocco unfurls a sprawling, anthemic sonic tapestry as heavy guitars set up her ethereal vocal. The initial tease off of a full length set for release later this Spring, the track establishes the artist’s universe in short and powerful order.

Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of the video for “Some Nerve” below.

“‘Some Nerve’ is a confrontation between my mind and myself,” shares Cocco. “I feel like we are all prone to invasive thoughts, things you did years ago that you just can’t seem to forget, basically anything that can drive yourself crazy. This song personifies that voice you need to silent. The empty house in the video serves as a battlefront in my head, destroyed and completely void once I’ve finally tuned that voice out.”

Watch Skyler Cocco in “Some Nerve” below and catch her live at The Shrine on April 6th.
