Hailing from Brooklyn and Long Island, rock quintet Superfecta crafts soundscapes for to lose yourself in. Their powerful messages, however, ring clear through their sonic world building.
Today, Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of Superfecta’s “Made to Break” and b-side “Simple Lines.” Both tracks address reconciling the loss of personal touches as technology automates more and more of our daily lives.
“On ‘Made to Break’ we used both new and familiar sonic backdrops to remind listeners how careful we need to be with technology. With the chorus, we wanted to emphasize how storytelling should be face to face and that relationships with others will always prevail over screen swipes and taps. “Made to Break” soars with a The War On Drugs style build with “Simple Lines” drawing you in for a more intimate, low key ballad.
On ‘Simple Lines,’ for the first time ever, we tracked the song all in the same room and live. Dialing in the effects later totally went against our usual overdubbing approach, but the song called for that. Inadvertently, it allowed for us to capture the unexpected musical movements and tension you get in our live performances.”
Stream Superfecta’s “Made to Break” and “Simple Lines” below and be sure to catch them on June 3rd at Pianos.
