The Bourgeois

Hailing from Tulsa, OK, the music of hardcore rockers The Bourgeois reflects a sense of urgency in attempting to break free from a rural upbringing and the current staid state of popular alt-rock. The band quickly gained notoreity following the release of We’re Still In The Gutter, But Some Of Us Are Looking At The Stars and subsequent touring that put their hard charging, left of center sound on full display.

Now, The Bourgeois are prepping the release of the Designer Genes EP. Speak Into My Good Eye has the exclusive premiere of the EP’s latest single, “We Are What We Pretend to Be,” below.

On the track, The Bourgeois come swinging straight out of the gate with incendiary guitar work and Zach Mobley’s dynamic lead vocal working from punk rock sneer to Black Francis-esque yelps.

“Our biggest inspiration is the toothless state of alternative rock,” says Zach Mobley (guitar/vocals). “If everyone else wants to make music to play in the background at department stores, we’ll bring the attitude back ourselves.”

Stream The Bourgeois’ “We Are What We Pretend to Be” and look for Designer Genes out soon.
