I forgive but I don’t forget; a sentiment most commonly expressed to other people, but how often do we apply it to ourselves? On his new album, Cherry Hill, Greg Mendez catalogs travails of the past with intimate portraits that artfully open the blinds for grey streaks of hope and longing amidst the storm. We’re highlighting it today as our SIMGE Stream.

Despite its relatively short run time, Mendez crafts largely acoustic-led distinct individual pieces that offer plenty to immerse yourself in. Single “Bike” explores deep desires building towards a crackling crescendo while “Purity / Cherry Hell” finds Mendez harmonizing with Veronica Isley, reflecting on duplicitous friendships.
