Chris Rotolo January 6, 2014 Asbury Music, News No Comments

The 2013 Asbury Music Award winning Happy Mondays roles on into the month of January tonight with a series of stacked dockets including free local music events, ticket giveaways for some of the biggest concerts in the area, and great food and drink specials to kick off your next four weeks in style at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park…here’s the skinny.

Jan. 6th: Thomas Wesley Stern, Mad Feather Group, Full Fathom 5

An Indie-Folk showcase opens the month with the Jackson, NJ based Thomas Wesley Stern, who captivate with each tightly-knit live performance, dazzling with their textured string-led arrangements and multi-part harmonies, evidenced by the collective’s latest self-titled LP that recently landed on SIMGE’s Top 50 Albums Of 2013 list.  Backing up the headliner will be quite possibly the best group of Indie-Rockers in the scene Mad Feather Group, and the local Folkies in Full Fathom Five.

Jan. 13th: Chris Rockwell, Moon Motel, Wakeup Paradise

Chris Rockwell & The Stickball Social Club return to Happy Mondays with support from the area’s finest musical poet Moon Motel, both of which saw their latest full-length efforts land on SIMGE’s Top 50 Albums Of 2013 list. The two outfits will be backed by Central Jersey Pop-Rockers Wake Up Paradise.

Jan. 20th: TV Tramps, Acid, Wise Guys

With a new record via Little Dickman Records in tow, the Asbury Park based Punk-Rock outfit TV Tramps will front this Happy Mondays showcase with support from the Main Man Records darling Acid, and Belmar-based Hardcore-Punk purveyors Wise Guys.

Jan. 27th: The Brigantines, Chris Brown, The Shipwrecks

A Surf-Rock display will round out Happy Mondays with celebrated Jersey Shore collective The Brigantines leading the way, followed by the mug-rattling Acoustic-Punk offerings of Chris Brown, and Reggae-toned tendencies of Long Beach, NY’s The Shipwrecks.
