Upset’s star continues to climb following a fantastic debut album, a string east coast premieres including the Don Giovanni Showcase, and an appearance by Ali Koehler on Shellshag’s Shellshonic Shag-o-Vision. This week finds the band traveling to Austin, Texas, for SXSW, where they’re slated to play five showcases over the week with such bands as Dum Dum Girls, Diarrhea Planet, Perfect Pussy and more.

The band’s love of punk history continues with a coverĀ  of 7 Second’s “Not Just Boys Fun,” a punk anthem that gives us some insight into what the scene may have been like for women back in 1984. With such lines as “You feel so fucking threatened/When they stand out in front/A stupid, passive piece of meat is all you really want,” its not hard to realize the song has relevance, even today. And what better band to remind us than the ass-kicking Upset team?
