They say variety is the spice of life. Friendships are also the best ships. I believe pretty much everything I’m told.
Two of NJs most talented bands, Hot Blood & The Shady Street Show Band, operating in totally different genres, embrace those two platitudes and will celebrate their mutual appreciation of each others talents with a split release entitled, Shady Blood.
As CoolDad shared in premiering the collabs’ first two offerings, “Zac Silva of The Shady Street Show Band and Mat Kiley of Hot Blood have known each other since they were yay high to a grasshopper.”
It’s worth noting that I used to play soccer and had sleepovers with Kiley as a kid in Hazlet so THERE’S LEVELS TO THIS SHIT MAN. I was also invited to Shady Street HQ for a party one time and there was food, booze, football on the TV and then a jam happened right there in the living room. WAS TIGHT.
As a well adjusted (lol), grown up, millionaire blogger it is my pleasure to share with you The Shady Street Show Band’s re-working of Hot Blood’s rules-to-live-by rager “Don’t Be A Dick” and the vice versa effect on “Growing To Stand The Sight Of You” which moves from a Bayou-soul-shuffle to punk scorcher.
I implore you to give both tracks a stream below and to head out to The Saint on September 19th where sonic worlds will FUCKIN’ COLLIDE, in a post-summer-blockbuster release show shindig featuring the aforementioned Hot Blood & The Shady Street Show Band joined by Bone & Marrow and Lowlight.
