I’ve been trying to move into the 21st century and get more multimedia content up here. So last night I sat down with Little Dickman Records artists Corrina, Corrina for an in-depth chat before their set at Asbury Park Yacht club. I got the whole thing on video. The foursome of Deaglan Howlett, Brian McKenna, Matthew Kessig, and Kyle “New Guy” Donovan have a series of dates coming up in support of their excellent debut LP American Short Stories.
The guys talked about what it’s like to be an under-21 band in an over-21 world, how they stalked their way onto Asbury Park’s Little Dickman Records, what they think of the new Gaslight Anthem album, and what’s going to happen to the band now that all four members will be headed off to college. Check out the video to see what they had to say about all of that and more.
Just after our conversation, Corrina, Corrina were confirmed for Hot Blood and The Vansaders‘ tour kickoff show at The Wunderloft in Asbury Park. You can also catch them in someone’s backyard in Howell for Yardfest on 8/22 or at The Brighton Bar with Black Flamingos and Groundskeeper on 8/25.
I’d just like to say thanks to the guys for spending such a long time with me right before playing a show, and I’d like to wish them the best of luck as they head off to college in a few weeks.
