Big Apple-based Blues-Rocker Joe Delia has arranged and toured with such beloved industry favorites as Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Pat Benetar, and David Johansen, and scored various films, including Carlito’s Way, and television programs for PBS and National Geographic. With such a vast array of projects and time consuming ventures, one wouldn’t believe it possible for Delia to stir up the creative juices necessary for a collection of originals worthy of a live show, but such is the case, and he’s bringing it down to the Jersey Shore’s most hallowed house of music, The Stone Pony, on Friday April 12th.
Delia’s backing band, the Thieves, is composed of veteran instrumentalists in Steven “Muddy” Roues (harp, bass, songwriter), Billy “Rockabilly” Roues (guitar, vocals, songwriter), James Benard (drums), PJ Delia (management, back up vocals and percussion), and a handful other Thieves who make sporadic appearances, including Richard Belzer, Mick Hargreaves, Lisa Freud, Klyph Black, the Jersey Shore’s own legendary stick wielder Max Weinberg.
The E Street Band drummer will be sitting atop the throne for Delia & Thieves when the band plays the Pony and you can purchase tickets when they go on sale this Saturday at noon by heading to any Ticketmaster outlet or The Stone Pony box office. Find more information here.
