Longtime brethren of the Jersey Shore music community and Asbury Park native, Ken “Stringbean” Sorensen, recently had his van, which housed a collection of touring and performance equipment, including a 1958 Gretsch hollowbody electric guitar and a vintage Ampeg amp, as well as various harmonicas, microphones, and cables, stolen from his property.

The bad news was initially reported by Sim Cain, another elder statesman of the scene, and renowned stick wielder whose credits include work with Rollins Band, Ween, and J. Geils Band, via Facebook this past weekend.

Check out the announcement below for more information on the vehicle and please keep your eyes pealed for it.

finally the true power of social media revealed! The vintage gear was returned by the owner of Swap For Cash. He received a couple of emails this morning from folks who already do business with him on a regular basis. He soaked up the financial hit on the equipment and even sold Kenny a replacement PA at his cost. The least folks who were concerned can do is stop in his shop and see what he has. Trust me, you will not be diappointed if you are a musician. I am a regular in there and he hass hooked me up with some great deals. The details on his shop are :
