It’s been four years since Baths last released an album, Obsidian, and you could certainly argue that in that time the need for honesty in self-reflection and personal growth has become essential for survival in these uncertain times. That said, Will Wiesenfeld’s latest aural emotional inventory, if new single “Yeoman” is any indication, may serve as his most ebullient work to date.

The spritely electro-pop jam, the first offering off of the forthcoming Romaplasm LP, finds Baths playing with strings and synths in new and exciting ways as Wiesenfeld masterfully weaves rich, bubbling textures together.

On the new record, Baths shares:

“I’m not as emotive with real-world things as I am when I’m neck deep in anime, video games, books or comics. I wanted to be honest with myself that this is where my heart lies and where I get the most emotion out of life. I wanted a record that mirrors those emotions but in an indirect way.”

Stream Baths’ “Yeoman” below and pre-order Romaplasm out November 17th via Anticon here.
