Black Flamingos

It’s been about two and a half years since SIMGE first reported on the Asbury Park-based trio Black Flamingos, and in that time they’ve established themselves as the finest instrumental surf-rock band in the tri-state today. Shots fired! When Rob Butkowski (guitar), Declan O’Connell (bass) and Vincent Minervino (drums), some real musical magic happens and I’m glad they’ve now finally announced plans for their debut LP, Neon Boneyard.

To go along with the announcement, Black Flamingos dropped the album’s first single, “The Gurch,” which finds the band locked onto another impeccably tight groove as they whip up a mysterious, black hole sun-soaked wipeout.

Stream Black Flamingos’ “The Gurch” below and pre-order Neon Boneyard, out May 19th via Little Dickman Records and Hi-Tide Recordings, here.
