It’s a hot and humid one here in Brooklyn today, and Jeff Walls AKA Campfires has just the sonic Pacific Northwest breeze for your headphones today. In announcing a new album, Fare Trax Walls leads with the lo-fi jangle-pop of “I’ll Go Home.” The amber-hued track offers an understated atmosphere with plenty of layers to immerse yourself in, including ear-tickling guitar leads, with repeat listens.
Walls details, “‘I’ll Go Home’ is about thoughts of a past that can no longer be returned to, or the feeling, as you get older, of all the negative shapes of lives you didn’t actually lead pressing into you as you walk through your everyday. The chords are inspired by one of my all time favorite songs, ‘Mindless Child of Motherhood,’ written by Dave Davies of the Kinks.”
