Oftentimes, “bedroom pop” is a term that is seemingly thrown around with complete abandon. You know it when you hear it, but the genre encompasses a wide array of sounds from a wide array of influences.
Carmen Canedo is acutely aware of that ironic juxtaposition, and toys with it on her recent single “Nothing Less Nothing More”. The understated instrumentation of this track allows Canedo to clearly deliver her thoughtful lyrics unencumbered, which are written clearly without much unnecessary cryptic-ism.
This track affirms there is no doubting Canedo’s familiarity with collaboration. Her guitar playing is intricate, humble and never abruptly overstepping.
After touring with bands such as Soccer Mommy, the Nashville native is releasing her second album Know It All. You can hear “Nothing Less Nothing More” below, as you wait for the rest of the album to release August 6th via Oof Records (pre-order).
