Good things come to those who wait. And with a year that seems to be nothing but waiting, it’s nice to be rewarded. When February came around, it had been a year since Asbury Park’s Dentist had new music.

Dentist’s new single, “Don’t Let Me Catch You”, is a gritty surf-infused garage rock letter to a partner who just got up and left. The full array of accompanying emotions are funneled into a track that is spiteful yet optimistic. The urgent beat and the bass and guitar’s darker tones are paired with self assured and silvery vocals.

Their newest single is a portent of their incoming album’s tone. During the thick of the pandemic, Dentist focused on making upbeat and optimistic music in a time where it seems increasingly easier to wallow.

This track premiered February 4th on Flood Magazine, with an album to come via Cleopatra Records. Enjoy the wonderfully quirky music video for “Don’t Let Me Catch You” below.
