Back in July, I caught a set by Brooklyn-based rockers Gingerlys at Secret Project Robot that immediately put them on my radar for future releases. Lo and behold, the band is now gearing up to release a debut, self-titled full-length with dreamy, whirring lead single, “Turtledoves,” offering an exciting taste of what’s to come.

The sweeping dream-pop cut finds Gingerlys locking in on a river of riveting rhythms as sparkling guitars and keys set up Jackie Mendoza’s wistful vocals.

The band shares:

“‘Turtledoves’ is about “the struggle of wanting to realize one’s creative dreams at the expense of living a traditionally comfortable life — a struggle that we all became familiar with over the four years it took to finish this song.”

Stream Gingerlys’ “Turtledoves” below and look for the LP out November 17th via Babe City Records and Topshelf Records.
