As we are approaching a full year of pandemic living, it is easy to feel like things are getting stale. While there are larger worries in today’s world, small tasks such as finding new music can seem tedious. Coming across Toronto indie outfit PACKS has seemed to dispel this fit of catastrophizing.
With the haze of 90’s alternative and catchy melody of indie folk, PACKS seems to be a diamond in the rough. Fronted by Madeline Link, the quartet’s most recent single Hangman demonstrates a wonderful balance of proficiency and DIY grit.
Touted as the “kind of garage pop rock that begs to be played for a basement of swaying bodies”, PACKS newest work is a result of a global abstention from those types of shows. Link wrote as a mechanism to cope with the ever changing world around her.
Pack’s most recent single Hangman is out now via Fire Talk Records. It is available for streaming below, as well as other streaming platforms.
