Listen: Potty Mouth Re-Align & Turn Up The Fuzz With “Cherry Picking”, New EP Out 8/21

Potty Mouth

Almost a full year ago, I was really impressed by alt-rockers Potty Mouth when they opened for Perfect Pussy at Asbury Lanes. Since then, the band has parted ways with guitarist Phoebe Harris, re-aligning as a three piece with their latest single offering a slightly altered sound from what was sampled on their debut, Hell Bent.

“Cherry Picking” is a marked shift to the L7, Veruca Salt, Hole side of the dial, as the strengths of each remaining member reign down all the more thunderous to pick up the slack and to offer something entirely new. A scenery shift from the band’s general base of operations in Western Massachusetts to Seattle likely had something to do with the sonic shift, as Potty Mouth traveled to work with producer John Goodmanson, who most recently worked with Sleater-Kinney on their excellent new album, No Cities To Love.

Definitely give “Cherry Picking” a stream below and peep their upcoming tour dates as well. Potty Mouth’s new, self-titled EP drops August 21st on their own label, Planet Whatever Records.

9/21 – Allston [Boston], MA @ Great Scott
9/22 – Philadelphia, PA @ Boot & Saddle
9/23 – New Haven, CT @ BAR
