Taking influences from the likes of Bauhaus and 1980s power rock, School ’94 marks themselves as THE band to check out right now. “Bound” is riddled with insanely powerful vocals and driving guitar licks that are spooky as hell – much like the fun songs we look back on from the ‘80s.
The band’s elusive singer Alice Botéus says of the single, “We wrote this song last summer, it’s also the song that’s most rock by us so far,” she adds, “It’s about a psycho love affair”. The beginning intro of the song conjures stills from the Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. The vibe is nostalgic and contagious. When Botéus breaks out into her vocals in the chorus, all comes together and makes for one wonderful track.
School ’94’s Bound EP comes out on June 10th via Luxury Records. Check out the single “Bound” below.
