Surf rock is not dead according to Brooklyn-based duo Surf Rock Is Dead. Their sweeping, pulsating sound breathes with a shoegaze-pop quality that begs for the shoreline, whether it be former homes made in Melbourne or Chicago or their current Atlantic-side residence.
Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg update classic surf-rock aesthetics run through a dreamy, kaleidoscopic filter with their new single, “Anymore,” serving as the latest case and point.
