Following time spent gaining initial notoriety producing music for the MTV sect, Portland-based artist Temporary Hero decided to turn back the clock by winding it into the future. After releasing two albums that served as tribute to Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, Temporary Hero now shares his latest titled simply, CHET.
The new nine track effort reimagines the music of the legendary Chet Baker with forward thinking electronic production brought to the singer’s vocal catalogue. CHET also comes paired with a beautifully shot visual companion featuring individual photos for each track.
“Though videos are an expected accompaniment to everyone’s musical output these days, I chose in this project to focus on cover art, shares the artist. “I love either shooting or designing my own cover art but, at times there are certain photographs I discover that just feel perfect for the song or project.”
With sparse, skittering drums and fluctuating harmonies, Temporary Hero entered his own version of the standard, “The Thrill Is Gone,” into the annals of songwriting history. Stream his take on it below and look for more from the artist here.
