Austin’s South By Southwest conference can feel pretty corporate sometimes with its wristbands, sponsored events, and free tacos in a Cool Ranch-flavored shell. But there are folks down there every March who keep things real. Asbury Park’s Little Dickman Records will be bringing a trio of bands to this year’s conference to show the crowds in Texas just how things are done in Asbury Park, NJ — independently.

Rockers TV Tramps, hardcore punks Hot Blood, and Asbury Music Award winners five times over The Battery Electric all head to Austin where they’ll join forces with Ft. Worth’s The Phuss for a trio of free showcases. Things get started at 9pm on March 13th at Austin’s Carousel Lounge. After what will probably be little or no sleep, the bands join up again for a noon set at Trailer Space Records on Friday, a set that will feature free PBR’s. On Saturday night, things move outdoors to The Red Shed Tavern, once featured in the Kris Kristofferson / Willie Nelson stone classic Pair of Aces.

TV Tramps, Hot Blood, and The Battery Electric will be coordinating tours with their Texas trip, so check out each band’s Facebook page for all of the details. Here’s wishing everyone a great trip.

And, on the off chance that you’re NOT planning on traveling to Texas for SXSW, you can stream the playlist below, generously compiled by Little Dickman Records.
