Northern New Jersey and New York City’s Lovelectric has returned with a new cover of Blink-182’s “Boxing Day” in homage of the genre vanguard’s new EP Dogs Eating Dogs. Set in a graffitied attic dwelling above a ghoul infested abode, the Pop-Punk collective offers a supercharged rendition of the majorly morose acoustic guitar driven track, providing the youthful exuberance and angsty gut checks that have eluded Blink-182’s more mature, post Angels & Airwaves, work. Stream the J.R. Vulpis directed video below.
This most recent release follows Lovelectric’s video for “Live Again”, a John Komar directed project for the lead single off the band’s debut EP An Ovation For Innovation. Stream that anthemic offering below and be sure to see Lovelectric on a pair of upcoming dates at iPlay America in Freehold, NJ. The outfit will join The Perfect Gentlemen on Valentine’s Day (February 14th) and will return on February 23rd to take part in The Break Contest and vie for a spot on the Skate & Surf ’13 lineup.
