Floridian Indie-Pop outfit Surfer Blood took to Facebook this evening to release it’s new ear worm single “Weird Shapes, which can be streamed below and downloaded here.

Birthed from an intense listening party of Beck tunes (according to the band in an interview with SPIN), Surfer Blood’s latest offering is a marvel, as this penman didn’t think the group had any more sugary sweetness stored away in its musical cupboard.  However, I suppose anything less would have been unacceptable when considering the band’s proven prowess for pixie stick-coated Pop compositions, the production efforts of Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World) and the studio complex where it was recorded housed The Beach Boys Pet Sounds sessions.  We’re talking the perfect storm of honey infused songwriting here…even Timbaland provided his blessing.

The track fronts forthcoming major label debut, Pythons, a 10-track collection which is expected sometime in 2013.  Stay tuned for more.
