Big Apple-based Dance-Punk three-piece Liars released a full-lengh collection in June of 2012 that included a cut titled “WIXIW” and on Wednesday that track’s cinematic treatment was unveiled.
In the silver screen venture a shaggy, baby-faced member of the Andrew W.K. cloth preserves the Caucasian stereotype that white men can’t in fact dunk by trying to take a Mayan Temple Guard straight off the set of Legends Of The Hidden Temple to the hole in slow motion, only to be not so gracefully rejected by the rim. And does this white knight quit? Absolutely not. This pale rider flies through the black and white landscape time and time again, the grass-skirted sentinel mocking him further with each shake of the hip.
The video’s LA-based director Alex/2Tone described the finished product as the “legend of Sisyphus as told by a young ballplayer lost in a haze of codeine and prescription weed.”
