Last Friday, rock bands on the rise invaded the Bowery Ballroom, including two of NJ’s best. The swell of passionate, genre spanning sets had a palpable energy with each band out to prove themselves on the legendary New York City stage.

New Brunswick’s Modern Chemistry kept up their busy schedule following the release of New Self Help Guide For Being Alone and the annual Zorzifest with a stunning set that displayed a basement intensity translated to a theatre platform.

The ever touring Brick + Mortar returned to the tri-state area with their road tested set at peak force and efficiency in support of last year’s Bangs. The night rounded out with Long Island outfit NGHBRS who teased their new EP with soaring arena ready rock blended perfectly with their engaging, intense stage presence.

You could take my word for it, or you could check out snippets from NGHBRS, Brick + Mortar, & Modern Chemistry’s sets from the Bowery Ballroom below.
