Waking up daily throughout these past three years, as things continue to distort in the atmosphere and through your screen in mind-numbing new ways, can oftentimes feel like a continuation of a stress/fever dream. Though not as overtly political as Lower Dens’ great, just released new LP, Brooklyn gaze duo No Swoon are reaching a hand out to you out of the other side of the simulation.

Having made promising in-roads here in the city scene, the duo featuring Tasha Abbott and Zack Nestel-Patt are now sharing plans for their anticipated first full-length led by single “Don’t Wake Up, Wake Up.” From the jump, No Swoon pushes the throttle teased on the close of “Blame The Messenger.” The high octane post-punk pace clears the smoky haze of their debut EP setting the stage for their new vision. Searing guitars, driving rhythms and Abbott’s distant but urgent vocals swirl to make “Don’t Wake Up, Wake Up” a thrilling red alert call up from the void.

Abbott details; “The music video for ‘Don’t Wake Up, Wake Up’ follows two people searching for and finding themselves lost, slipping between a dream and reality. — This song started from a dream of mine. Usually, my dreams are very darkly lit or at night with muted colors, except there is always one or two objects that are highly saturated in a brighter color.”
