Pop songs have some kind of unique power. They are able to be both comfortable and exciting, often at the same time. And Blush Cameron is a master of writing sentimental, scrappy pop songs.
Blush Cameron (formerly COMPs) is Philadelphia’s underground pop sensation. Dripping with 80s nostalgia and bittersweet melodies, their previous record Life As A Baller was full of quirky, incredible songwriting. Drum machines, thick chorus, and synthesizers create a world where everything feels not quite perfect, but alright.
Their new record, Ambiguous World, comes out October 11th on Flesh & Bone Records. Speak Into My Good Eye is pleased as punch to premiere Blush Cameron’s video for their new single “Four Odd Words.” If the music alone doesn’t set the mood, the video for “Four Odd Words,” directed by Allan Khorsheed, is full of skateboarding kids and trips to convenience stores. It’s simple in its concept, but can’t help but make you feel young again. But then again, that’s what pop music is for, right?
