Eggs on Mars

One of my favorite things about running this gosh-dang music site, aside from the fame, riches and hefty discount at Dunkin Donuts (get @ me!), is tracking the progressions of some folks from far-flung places that I know strictly through said gosh-dang enterprise. Welcome back Eggs on Mars, who are gearing up to release a new LP, It Will Be Like It Was. SIMGE is happy to host the exclusive premiere of their latest single, “I Can’t Always Be the Sunshine,” today.

When last we left our Kansas City-based heroes, they were premiering their cut, “Out of My Hands,” with us. On “I Can’t Always Be the Sunshine,” the band certainly moves up a notch in terms of production with a universal theme overscored by intricate guitar-work and great mid-tempo rhythms.

The band shares, “‘I Can’t Always Be the Sunshine’ is a bright jangly garage-pop song about how it’s okay to not always be happy; it’s okay to be sad and to feel blue. You don’t always have to be everything to everybody and eventually things will turn back around.”

Listen to Eggs on Mars’ “I Can’t Always Be the Sunshine” below and look for It Will Be Like It Was out October 4th via Jigsaw Records here.
