Comprised of Joe Reichel (guitar, vox), Carlo Minchillo (drums) and our very own Mike Petzinger (bass), rockers Pocket Protector have quickly come up in the Brooklyn scene with a fun blend of jangle-pop and punk styles. Now, the trio are starting to release their first official recordings with Speak Into My Good Eye happy to be premiering the latest, “Blast Friend,” today. The hard-charging track is all killer no filler as Pocket Protector work at a furious pace culminating in an incendiary guitar solo.
The band details; “This song is about the kind of person who is such an utter mess that, like some beautiful car crash, you can’t help but watch the carnage. Eventually, you realize their behavior affects you too, by osmosis. It’s like the allure of smoking cigarettes when you’re younger. A temporary thrill, a tragic blast friend, reveling in the danger you’ve intentionally put yourself in.”
