Complimentary egg-shaped percussion instruments were dispensed to the audience on Friday evening at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club as Quincy Mumford & The Reason Why packed the upscale eatery and music locale for the Beach Comber-Rock collective’s Live At The Saint record release party.

When a handful of fans began to join in, shaking their sand-filled breakfast food, the mellow front-man encouraged the rest of the congregation to join in.

“Feel free to be a part of the band,” said Mumford, “because the audience is the ‘Reason Why’.”

And join in they did, as members of the assemblage deserted their dinner plates on several occasions to dance the night away at the foot of the stage and before the barefooted Mumford.

Be sure to scoop up Live At The Saint, a compilation of songs recorded over three performances in two days at the storied Downtown Asbury Park venue in March.  The album is accompanied by an impressive live DVD filmed, directed, and edited by Kyle Mumford.
