On March 31st Brian Fallon took a break from recording The Gaslight Anthem’s forthcoming full-length release, Handwritten, the New Brunswick-based outfit’s fourth LP since 2007 which is due out in June, and entered the warm embrace of “Asbury’s arms” while making port in the city’s latest downtown music haunt, The Press Room, for an intimate evening hosted by the Red Bull Music Academy consisting of one hilarious, yet informative, interview session with local journalist Jon Coen (in which the pair discussed the creepiness of fans, the worth of The Replacements, and the end of the world) followed by an emotional nine-song acoustic set.

Check out Speak Into My Good Eye’s review of this special event, written by Chris Rotolo, here, a stream of Fallon’s performance here, and video of the interview below:

NOTE: If the upcoming Bamboozle Festival’s 10th Anniversary lineup wasn’t enough for you to make the trek out to The Boardwalk from May 18th through the 2oth, as the event makes its triumphant return to Asbury Park, The Gaslight Anthem has been added to a Sunday docket already featuring such Garden State greats as Bon Jovi, Catch 22, Folly, Patent Pending, and The Bouncing Souls.  Three-day and single-day passes are still available…pick them up here.
