SIMGE On The Scene: Renee Maskin, The Turnbucklers & Girl Played Happy Mondays

Phil Shepherd September 13, 2016 Live, Reviews No Comments

Happy Mondays offered a good variety of tunes this week. Kicking off with a most beautiful, last minute solo set from Lowlight’s Renee Maskin, the night turned into an energetic romp as The Turnbucklers put in a fantastic block, in what turned out to be my favorite set of the night in both visual and auditory form.

The night closed out with Girl, a project of Candace Schur and Jay Monday. First time in Asbury for the group and I believe I heard them say only their third show overall. Good stuff from these Happy Monday regulars.

Up next week we have Overlake, Morningside Lane and Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son. See you there!
