Russian Circles Set To Record New Album In The Spring

After a jaunt supporting Coheed & Cambria and Between The Buried & Me on tour this spring, Chicago, IL’s Russian Circles plan to enter the studio to record their latest effort.

The band shared in an all too brief statement:

“We are excited to announce that we will be entering the studio this spring to record our 5th full length album! More info to come.”

This marks the first release for the instrumental rock trio since 2011’s Empros.

In an interview last year, bassist Brian Cook detailed what Russian Circles learned from recording Empros:

“I feel a lot better about Empros now that I have distance from the recording process. And we’ve already talked about what we’re going to do differently next time around, which makes me really optimistic about the next album. Obviously, anyone that says they don’t give a shit about how their work is received is lying. People want affirmation on some level. But if we went in to making Empros under less than ideal circumstances and people liked the result, I don’t think I should waste time worrying about the results of making a record in an opportune scenario.”

The Coheed tour hits Radio City Music Hall on March 16th. Stay tuned for all the pertinent details as they come.
