Holy moley, Brooklyn fuzz-freaks, ¡Vamanos!, have a new EP and it is scary good. Scary good because ¡Vamanos! scares the shit out of me.
This two piece hair monster, featuring possible-humans Tyler Bower and Alex Knoche underneath those silken manes, has fused into one lock of love between tube amps and snappy drums. ¡Vamanos! sounds like if you took a ’67 Pontiac Firebird, revved that slutty little tin kitten, and crashed it full speed into a dumpster full of beer cans and fog machines. As a bald man, I am very intimidated.
Cower in shear terror over six buttery split ends, which only pause their manic onslaught to confuse and disorient their prey. I was listening to track number six, “Jackie O,” at midnight when for some reason I felt compelled to break into the local aquarium and punch every goddamn fish I could find. I almost drowned trying to get into the eel tank. One could argue that eels aren’t fish, but I still punched them in their goddamn wet faces anyways. That’s how good this EP is. Very spooky.
¡Vamanos! is going on tour to support their new release. Their kickoff is 2/20 at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn, NY with Crazy & The Brains, Spewing Cum, and Sun Voyager. All of these bands and their hair terrify me.
In addition to a digital release, the EP is available on a 10″ which is a limited run of 500 hand-numbered records pressed on beer-colored vinyl. Pre-order that shit here.
