Last week, we interviewed psych rockers Elephant Stone ahead of their shot at The Saint. Now, new SIMGE photographer Mike Petzinger shares his photos and thoughts about the subsequent evening which also included Savants, Saint James & The Apostles, and Amy Malkoff & The Moonshines.
“All in all, this past Saturday was a good night for music at The Saint. The Moonshines and St. James and the Apostles were a pretty good match for each other, with the former opening with some dark, ambient rock followed by the manic psychedelic rock of St. James.
Elephant Stone, from Montreal, was a bit of a departure. They’re definitely on the mellower side of the psychedelic spectrum aside from St. James (complete with sitar). Most members seemed to be multi-instrumentalists and continually switched off; an impressive feat that was only topped perhaps by the sheer amount of gear they’re managing to tour with. The evening was concluded with the retro rock of Savants.”
