SIMGE Staff Photographer Phil Shepherd: (Read his recent blog entry on concert photography)
This week’s version of Happy Monday’s had a little surprise in store for everyone in attendance, and by the looks on everyone’s faces I think the staff of the Wonder Bar was not even clued in on what was to be.
Tam Garcia of Garden State Line was solo and kicked off the night with one of the best acoustic sets I have ever heard. And he said he was not sure how it would go over, no worries there, this dude is good! Aggressive, passionate and humble.
Alternative rockers Tour De Force brought their sounds down from East Brunswick and I found myself uncontrollably tapping my feet and drifting with their melodies while I was shooting.
And then there was Los Pocos Locos.
Los Pocos Locos, out of Long Branch. Surf Rock, with character. And they themselves are characters. Very entertaining, very talented. And they brought a bull. Yes, gracing the floor of the Wonder Bar towards the later part of their set, a Matador and his Bull. A spectacle for sure. They both survived to tell their tales, smiles all around, concluding a very Happy Monday.
