SIMGE On The Scene With: Jesse Lee Herdman (Accidental Seabirds) At The 4th Annual JAM Awards

On Sunday afternoon the storied Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove lent its humble quarters to the 4th Jersey Acoustic Music (JAM) Awards show and gala which saw performances by such celebrated members of the Garden State’s stripped down arts society as headliner Thomas Wesley Stern, Alexandra Inglis, Lo Kloza & Jeff Rupert, and Airacuda, not to mention the countless talent honored with awards, like James Dalton (Top Male Performer), Rachel Millers (Top Female Performer Under 18), and The Porchistas (Top Indie Act), and various nominees/SIMGE favorites like Daimon Santa Maria and Jen Mustachio of Elevator Art, Asbury songsmith Colton Kayser, and Jesse Lee Herdman of Accidental Seabirds.

I was able to catch up with Herdman for a short interview in which we discussed Accidental Seabirds’ forthcoming LP, the evolution of the band’s songwriting, and more. Check out the conversation below:
